General Description:
Maintenance Technician assists Maintenance Supervisor ensuring daily maintenance requirements are achieved in an efficient and timely manner. Maintenance Tech/Assistant maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, inspects and services all machines, facility equipment and vehicles. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper operation of production machinery, tools, facility equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot and identify sources of mechanical or electrical malfunctions; perform required repairs.
- Demonstrate abilities in; welding, fabrication, electrical repair and installation, machining, pneumatic repairs and installation, lift truck and vehicle maintenance and repair, reading electrical diagrams and blueprints
- Disassemble, reassemble, repair and test for proper operation of equipment
- Complete job assignments in a timely fashion, especially relating to machine downtime
- Conduct painting, general carpentry and building repairs
- Coordinate servicing and inventory of blades, bits, cutters, etc. to ensure tooling is consistently available for production demands
- Communicate with outside vendors for technical support as needed
Assist Maintenance Supervisor:
- Provide backup, when assigned by Maintenance Supervisor, for all daily maintenance duties and responsibilities as performed by the Maintenance Supervisor
- Respond to any maintenance issue that may arise during all hours of plant operation, and address issues when ever, and however, required to ensure continued plant operations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Comply with all company and OSHA safety rules, policies and procedures and make certain that all employees under his/her responsibility do the same. Report any unsafe acts and or conditions to a supervisor immediately. Maintain a clean and organized work area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years Manufacturing maintenance experience
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics, wire/pneumatic/parts diagrams
- Troubleshooting skills, mechanical and electrical
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate
- Valid Driver’s License
- Forklift operator experience
- Ability to work in elevated environment (50 feet or less)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
