Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Maintenance Technician on behalf of an incredible affordable housing organization in Columbus, OH! This direct-hire position offers a full-time onsite schedule and the opportunity to join a team committed to providing safe and comfortable housing for all.
The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of residents, visitors, and staff. Through proactive maintenance, hands-on repairs, and diligent groundskeeping, the Maintenance Technician ensures the property meets the highest standards of safety and functionality, complying with all pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents.
- Stay up to date on pertinent laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Proactively inspect apartment property throughout the community and immediately take action to correct unsafe conditions.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
- Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Diagnose and perform minor and routine repairs and services to ensure that apartments are ready for new residents on time.
- Assist in keeping grounds neat and clean by raking, sweeping, and shoveling as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years experience in apartment maintenance or a related field.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call shifts.
- Knowledge and skills in safely using and maintaining hand tools, power tools, user-moved aids, mechanical equipment, and measuring devices.
- Ability to perform the following tasks 66-100% of the time: stand for long periods; bend, stoop, squat, and kneel; climb stairs; push and pull objects; reach above the shoulders; climb ladders; grasp, grip, and turn objects; use fine motor skills; life and carry up to 75 pounds; read and understand maintenance forms and warning labels.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
