Position Summary:
Provide general maintenance, mechanical, technical, and physical assistance in support of National Inventors Hall of Fame facility, museum, ceremonies, projects, programs, and exhibits.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and physical assistance as it relates to the production and support of NIHF ceremonies, programs, and projects.
- Design, fabrication, shipment, installation, and maintenance of museum exhibits.
- Loading and unloading of trucks, along with pickup and delivery of required materials.
- Furniture and equipment moving.
- General office maintenance: carpentry, painting, drywall repair, carpet repair, etc.
- General housekeeping and janitorial services as needed.
- Travel to USPTO Museum for maintenance and installation of exhibits.
- General daily maintenance duties: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.
- Travel for physical and technical support at various NIHF functions.
- Follow all proper safety and OSHA regulations and procedures.
Credentials and Experience:
- PC skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- General technical and mechanical aptitude is required.
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and electronics troubleshooting.
- Tow motor experience (license preferable).
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with computer-aided drawing is a plus (AutoCAD, Sketchup, etc.).
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be available to work overtime.
- Carpentry and general woodworking experience.
- Welding and general metal working experience.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, with the ability to drive large trucks.
