ROLE SUMMARY
The Aviation Maintenance Technician reports functionally to the Director of Maintenance and operationally to the Lead Aviation Maintenance Technicians. Aviation Maintenance Technicians work in a team environment with other technicians, pilots, dispatchers, flight attendants, and line service technicians in order to provide a safe and compliant environment for passengers and colleagues in fulfillment of the air transportation services provided by Pfizer corporate aviation.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate Aircraft Maintenance and inspections with flight schedules to ensure aircraft availability
- Participate in the Pfizer Aviation Safety Management System
- Participate on one of three Aviation Department Committees: Standards, Training, or Safety
- Perform all work in accordance with aircraft manufacturer recommendations, FAA regulations, industry standards and Pfizer AOM or Process and Procedures manual
- Comply with MMEL/Configuration Deviation List (CDL) prescribed procedures
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's technical data, CFRs, and applicable safety
- Ensure compliance with the company Tool Control Program
- Maintain proficiency in procedures, parts, and tools needed to perform maintenance and repair work on the company aircraft
- Ensure the applicability and compliance of technical directive correspondence within the indicated time constraints
- Detect, monitoring, and tracking any recurring defects
- Inspect all maintenance repairs/work prior to releasing the aircraft for service
- Perform inspections for work accomplished by others as required
- Liaise with external sources on maintenance-related issues
- Plan and organize all short, mid and long range scheduled Aircraft Maintenance tasks
- Coordinate work load planning objectives
- Provide maintenance support when traveling with aircraft
- Perform maintenance away from home base when needed
- Maintain all avionics and electrical systems
- Install avionics and electrical equipment
- Perform any additional duties to assist the company operation as required
- Complete administrative duties to include; keeping accurate and updated due lists, updating aircraft and engine and component permanent records, reviewing all documentation for assigned aircraft
- Coordinating outside vendor services as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possesses a High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's Degree preferred)
- Possesses a violation-free current Airframe and Power Plant certificate
- Possesses ten (10) years of experience in the aviation industry
- Has five (5) years of experience working on turbine-powered aircraft
- Has working experience on Gulfstream and Leonardo aircraft (preferred) or similar type
- Possesses a personal set of tools appropriate to the type of aircraft operated by this department
- Inspection Authorization preferred
- Positive can-do team attitude, great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills
- Great situational and self-awareness, job planning and scheduling
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Read and understand manufacture's documentation
- Excellent avionics and electrical knowledge, reading and understanding schematics and wiring diagrams
- Excellent troubleshooting skills: electrical, avionics, systems, hydraulics
- Ability to perform QC (quality control) functions: research, inspections, oversight, documentation

- Willing to work outside in the elements as required
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Work varying shifts, holidays, weekends, nights, stand-by, on-call
- Ability and willingness to travel as required, domestic and international, sometimes on short notice.
