Under limited supervision, perform varied mechanic repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment, as well as to perform building maintenance, which may include cutting/welding, plumbing, heating, carpentry, snow removal, etc.
You Will:
- Conduct preventive maintenance on a large variety of machinery and equipment throughout the facility. This may include production equipment, office equipment, and building services equipment (air conditioners, etc.) upon assignment, determine cause of failure of equipment and affect an appropriate repair.
- Conduct diagnostic work may be of a difficult nature.
- Notify Maintenance Supervisor or Lead person of needed materials which are not readily available but required for the repair, as well as to reorder supplies used.
- Plan and perform assorted building maintenance functions such as carpentry, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
- Perform or assist with grounds keeping functions such as landscaping, and clean-up.
- Complete all necessary reports as required by stand operating procedures to document work performed, test carried out on equipment, materials used and reordered, machinery downtime reports, safety factors discovered and/or repaired.
- Perform routine housekeeping in and around maintenance department, as well as areas serviced, to insure that the areas operate within parameters which conform to pollution and safety standards and requirements.
You Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read and write clearly.
- Good math skills.
- Good judgment abilities to seek problem resolution.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools .
- Availability on weekends and holidays call-ins or for scheduled maintenance service work as needed.
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISON:
- This job has no direct reports.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move weight of up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The majority of the time is spent in the factory where the temperature is not controlled. There is also outside work, where you are subject to the elements. When in the factory the use of personal protective equipment, (PPE), is required. Minimum PPE consists of safety shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses. Additional personal protective equipment may be required for specific tasks.
