JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various CNC machines and support equipment systems and equipment in a facility. They play a crucial role in ensuring that all machinery and systems are running smoothly to prevent downtime and reduce costly repairs.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspecting equipment and systems to identify any issues or potential problems.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating machinery, changing filters, and checking fluid levels.
- Conducting repairs on equipment and systems, such as replacing parts, troubleshooting electrical issues, or fixing hydraulic and pneumatic problems.
- Responding to maintenance requests from staff or management to address issues in a timely manner.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including work orders and inventory of spare parts.
- Following safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
- Collaborating with other Maintenance Technicians and staff to coordinate maintenance efforts and prioritize tasks.
- Updating and maintaining knowledge of new technologies and advancements in maintenance practices.
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and managers to provide updates on maintenance tasks and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and logic controllers
- Experience with electrical systems and troubleshooting
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of CMMS software
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Prior experience in a maintenance role is preferred
