Maintenance Technician

Summary/Objective

This position will be responsible for installing, repairing, and performing maintenance on a variety of systems and components in a residential setting (Rustic Creek/ Austin region). Areas of maintenance include but are not limited to HVAC systems, electrical components, plumbing systems and swimming pools.

Essential Functions

1. Maintenance and repair of all Nova Recovery properties

• Maintenance of the exterior grounds, interior and exterior maintenance of the properties buildings.
• Picking up trash, debris around the properties and properly disposing in trash receptacles or storage areas.

2. Various HVAC duties including:

• Assist with service calls and maintenance repairs in apartment complex and residential properties.
• Use blueprints or design specifications to install HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems when necessary.

3. Light electrical duties including:

• Installing electrical systems, light fixtures, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers.
• Threading conduit ends and connecting couplings and conduit fittings using appropriate tools.
• Hooking up appliances for power.
• Installing ceiling fans.
• Changing light bulbs and AC filters.
• Troubleshooting electrical problems.

4. Light carpentry skills including:

• Installation and patching drywall within the buildings.
• Internal and external sanding and light touch up painting.
• Minor building projects.

5. Light plumbing duties include:

• Assisting with installation, repair and maintenance of pipes used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.

6. Perform general pool maintenance when necessary.

7. Demonstrate competence in the Safety Procedures of Nova Recovery LLC.

8. Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to clients, staff, and any other information this position may be privy to.

9. Act as a representative of Nova Recovery LLC at work and in the community by representing a favorable image of the Company to all outside contacts with courteous and tactful behavior toward clients, visitors, and other staff.

10. Dress in an appropriate manner according to the dress code.

11. Able to work well under pressure.

12. Responsible for being at work, on time, per the established department schedule.

13. Practice in compliance with the Code of Ethical Conduct.

14. Comply with all applicable Nova Recovery LLC Policies and Procedures.

15. All other duties and/or special projects as assigned by Management.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Certification from an approved HVAC trade school.  CPO certification preferred.  1-2 years of experience in residential maintenance including HVAC, electrical and plumbing skills.  Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe manner.

General Qualifications

Prior Management experience-

Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must have good customer service skills, as well as good verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to be a self-starter with minimal supervision.
