Scope of Responsibility:
The Maintenance Utilities Technician III has the responsibility for the effective operation and major/ minor proactive repairs of plant utility equipment. Works with others to achieve factory business objectives of safety, productivity, customer service, quality, cost and environmental protection. The primary responsibility of the role includes executing equipment planned maintenance, developing, planning, scheduling plans needed, problem solving and continuous improvement as part of a work team in order to attain high equipment reliability and uptime, safety compliance, equipment maintenance procedures, data collection, housekeeping,
The Maintenance Technician III works within a structure that requires considerable interaction with the production units and support functions.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician III supporting the Plant Utilities Systems:
Implement major and minor planned maintenance activities and repair of Utilities
Stays abreast of equipment performance and reliability by performing daily inspections and reviewing equipment performance and operating conditions
Participates in regular review of assigned equipment performance and uses downtime data, SAP EAM data, Predictive Maintenance Reports, among other, to understand equipment performance and drive continuous improvement
Performs the needed planning and scheduling of assigned equipment maintenance and repairs. This includes obtaining needed parts through the storeroom or by purchasing needed parts or service from OEM’s through the T&H and Facilities planner, working with the Maintenance Team Leader and Manager, Planning, Engineering, Area Leaders, among others, to determine when the work will be scheduled. All work is to be documented in the SAP EAM System.
Maintenance Plans for assigned equipment is in the SAP EAM system, performing periodic reviews and optimization of the plans.
Prioritizes maintenance activities that support and facilitate these schedules and demands.
Support the review and update of AM, PM work instructions (SOP, PPM, SWIS, OPL, etc.)
Recommends and executes machine modifications
Fabricates simple machine parts using the required shop equipment such as lathe, drill press, milling machine and others. May also need to contact local machine shops and contactors to manufacture needed parts for improvements or repairs.
Seeks and applies Continuous Improvement tools and techniques to achieve team goals, e.g., Quality Systems, FP&R, Problem-Solving tools. Works with plant CI Engineer and Plant Engineers to design and implement improvement projects and Capital projects.

Maintains work area to required housekeeping standards. Performs housekeeping activities as per established protocol and conducts/participates in area housekeeping assessments per requirement
Understands the storeroom parts storage system and can easily search and find parts as needed. Also, must follow the correct procedure for removing parts from the storeroom
Understands and adheres to all EOHS, Quality, GMP and Micro (C&S Guidelines) standards and guidelines.
Shares knowledge and develops maintenance skills in operators. Identifies new opportunities for transferring skills to operators. Actively participates in continuous learning opportunities. Train maintenance technicians on basic workings to properly run and maintain the assigned equipment.
This position should have Awareness Training of the site's PSM (Process Safety Management) Program and be familiar with evacuation procedures.
The Maintenance Technician III will report deficiencies using the Notification process in SAP EAM, or as necessary using verbal or written communication with Team Leader, Area Leaders or Operations Managers
Education: High school /Vocational /Technical Institute
Experience: 5 years manufacturing or similar experience is preferred, with an emphasis in mechanics or electronics.
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
