As our Maintenance Packaging Equipment Technician, you will help maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic Packaging Equipment. Your technical experience with gearboxes, bearings, film slitters, bushings, heat sealers cams, track chains, tooling, belts, clutches, sprockets, and oil lube routes will be very helpful to everyone.

Job Functions

• Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, replace mechanical systems on Packaging Equipment lines (such as cartoner, pick and place systems , bottle-unscramblers, tablet counter, hydraulic post lifts, pressure sensitive labeler, bottle-cappers, VFFS pouch machines, VFFS stick-pack lines, stretch-film wrappers, case-packer, conveyors, and similar).

• Perform root cause analysis, pm service, repair, replace gearboxes, bearings, film slitters, bushings, cams, track chains, tooling, belts, clutches, sprockets, and oil lube routes.

• Responsible for quality, duration, and thoroughness of performed work to ensure efficiency and safety.

• Evaluate work for quality and progress when completed.

• Set up, align, monitor, and/or calibrate Packaging Equipment.

• Offer input, advice and directions for upgrading and modifying existing Packaging Equipment, to ensure safe , efficient, and smarter operations.

• Prepare and submit daily progress reports (using Microsoft or Tablet) that inform stakeholders of the accomplishments you have achieved and completed.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year industrial equipment tech experience with precision mechanical devices and or two-year technical degree preferred.

• Must be able to demonstrate troubleshooting of mechanical systems.

• Able to perform proficient equipment change over, and calibrate automated/semi-automated electro-mechanical Packaging Equipment.

• Has strong equipment repair, upgrade, and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience completing preventive maintenance activities.

• Must be highly goal oriented and proactive.

• Able to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment.

• Able to work in a manner consistent with plant safety and product quality.

• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required (e.g. lock-out / tag-out, confined space entry).

• Good computer skills.

• Able to prioritize task based on importance and urgency.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to continuously stand, bend, and twist, including the ability to lift items to 50 pounds.

• Physical demands of this position require person to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 8 hours each day.

• Possess excellent vision.

• Have excellent dexterity, required to perform the electro-mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair assignments.
