Job Description
GENERAL:
This is primarily an administrative and supervisory role. In this position, you will set the team's schedules, handle payroll, and help hire and train new employees. You should have significant experience in a variety of maintenance fields, including appliance repair, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC. However, this position is mainly responsible for preventative maintenance, highly technical repairs can be handled by a third-party vendor. While you will primarily act as a supervisor, you may need to provide additional support during more extensive projects, such as painting large rooms.
SPECIFICDUTIES:
Train new maintenance employees, ensure current employees are knowledgeable of duties assigned.
Set schedules for each of your team members
Turn in timecards and other payroll documents for each pay period
Set appointments with third-party vendors for major repairs
Help complete maintenance tasks when necessary
JOB SPECIFICS:
Planning, prioritizing, assigning, supervising, reviewing and participating in all tasks related to facility maintenance
Developing methods and schedules for facility maintenance
Responsibly handling emergency situations or after-hours calls for repair and maintenance
Taking part in developing maintenance policies and standards for an organization
Coordinating training sessions in facility maintenance, safety procedures, and methods
Planning daily tasks and delegating them to Maintenance Technicians and other professionals
Maintaining preventive maintenance standards for an organization’s facilities and equipment
Routinely inspecting various elements of buildings and grounds, like elevators, fire alarms, security cameras and sprinkler systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee will walk/stand 100% of the time. Reaching, bending and twisting 100% of the time. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast pace environment at all times.
ENVIRONMENT: Poultry processors work in cold, damp conditions (40° to 50° degrees) to prevent the meat from spoiling. The work area surface is wet and slippery 100% of the time. Because processors work with knives and sharp machinery, there is a risk of accidental injuries, ranging from minor cuts to finger or limb amputations.
