The Maintenance Supervisor has leadership/oversight responsibilities for the maintenance team. Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. This Position will support our Care Chemicals Business Unit in Mount Holly, NC
Responsibilities
Maintenance and Planning (KPI – Plant downtime UEE; Schedule adherence; 3rd part contractor costs; DART):
Responsible for leading and driving a safe environment within the maintenance team and outside contractors. Ensure adherence with Quality, Safety, Environmental, Health and Clariant standards and guidelines.
Direct the maintenance team with work activities in the day-to-day activities to ensure proper and efficient maintenance and repair of plant equipment.
Ensure that each day’s planned maintenance work runs to schedule and if schedule is interrupted to adjust the actions to address unplanned work and work towards planned work.
Responsible to ensure SAP data entries are completely and accurate. Tech hours, feedback etc
Responsible to work with the maintenance planner to integrate the production plan with the maintenance plan.
Functions as the point contact for maintenance activities working closely with the Reliability Engineer to ensure spare parts are available based on recommendation of the Mechanical Integrity plan.
Focus on daily/weekly schedules and active participation with the annual maintenance shutdowns.
Maintenance Execution (KPI – Work order completion; Overdue WOs; Maintenance costs; PDs):
Facilitates the maintenance meetings with the maintenance team to ensure work order completion per KPI’s and create visibility for improvement.
Review and confirm backlog work order status with the maintenance team and maintenance planner.
Ability to lead repairs and maintenance activities on rotating equipment such as pumps, mechanical seals, blowers, compressors or other driven equipment.
Determine if “on call/call-in” is required for plant emergencies and operational needs (control of urgent work orders).
Provides reports to management for maintenance activities as necessary and performs other duties as directed by manager.
Continuous Improvement and Personnel Development (Training matrix; Cost savings; Safety Observations; Energy):
Willingly provides current, effective and meaningful training to the team members and/or system operators.
Evaluate performance of subordinates to ensure all maintenance techs are trained on the most updated versions of the work procedures.
Responsible for work quality standards and spot-checking work order after completion.
Capable of interacting effectively and professionally with multi-discipline teams.
Mentor, cultivate and encourage team members to improve safety, operations and costs.
Requirements
- High school diploma and or after school engineering qualification (trade school or associate degree)
- At least 5 years’ supervisor / management experience within Chemical or manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a maintenance craftsperson.
- Six/Lean Sigma training.
- Skilled in SAP, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to react and resolve any issue/breakdown effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to operate in a complex environment.
- Creatively working on getting challenges corrected by keeping cost in control.
- Lead and mentor the maintenance team to create a strong well integrated team.
- High level of attention to detail is required with strong communication skills to keep information transparent and efficient.
