The Position
Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Maintenance Repair Specialist performs a variety of skilled work in mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct and/or maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds. Skilled MAINTENANCE REPAIR duties include, but are not limited to, basic plumbing, carpentry, interior and exterior painting, minor electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, grounds maintenance, and vehicle maintenance. This position is located with Norther Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) in Sparks, NV. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Special Notes

As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.

This position requires an applicant be at least 18 years of age upon application. If selected, proof of being at least 18 years of age will be required.

This position is subject to standby and call back status.

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

This position may require flexible/rotating shifts.

This position may require work on nights/weekends/holidays.
