SUMMARY: Supports all production/facility equipment during normal operation, performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, and maintains facility in top condition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make equipment adjustments (timing, feed, etc.) and repair sewing & quilting machines and related equipment as necessary to address machine failures as well as quality and production issues.
- Inspect, operate, or troubleshoot machinery and related equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Clean or lubricate shaft, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Assist in training sewing machine operators in proper setup and operation of machines
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain parts inventory.
- Perform duties safely and maintain a clean and safety work environment in compliance with safety guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years related experience with industrial sewing machines setup, trouble shooting, repairs, and maintenance.
- Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
- Ability to understand safety requirements.
- Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Continually required to walk.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
- Continually required to talk or hear.
- Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard. Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds / up to 25 pounds/ up to 50 pounds/ more than 50 pounds.
- Frequent work near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally work around airborne particles. Frequent exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
