Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond to all assigned maintenance requests in a timely manner and ensure tickets are updated/closed accordingly.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform immediate repairs, and conduct PMs on operating and material handling equipment to ensure daily operational requirements are met.
- Perform surface preparations, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, lighting and A/C filter replacement. Ensure jobs are complete and the work area is thoroughly cleaned up.
- Overhaul and install new equipment.
- Performs general labor work as required.
- Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, replace electrical switches and outlets.
- Willingness to extend job duties and carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments.
- Generate part requests and parts checkout to ensure adequate inventory.
- Complete all projects issued from work orders.
- Promptly complete all required reporting and documentation.
- Adhere to our Cultural Values, GMPs, Personal Safety and Food Safety guidelines while performing any tasks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and unsafe practices to the Supervisor on duty.
Required/Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification.
- Electrical Troubleshooting knowledge.
- Fabrication and welding skills are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.
- Proficiency in Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
- Previous experience working in a high-speed industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance methods.
- Ability to analyze electrical diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Flexible work hours to accommodate operational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, promoting effective collaboration and teamwork.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Food Safety and Sanitation guidelines
- Professional Certifications (e.g., CMRP or HVAC Certified) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Standing and walking for extended periods to perform maintenance tasks and inspections.
- Occasional pushing, bending, reaching, and pulling when working on equipment and accessing confined spaces.
- Capability to work in varying temperatures and environments, including cold storage areas and hot production zones.
- Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced food production environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
