Maintenance Mechanic

Summary: Performs all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality and Reliability. Responsible for performing the duties assigned in an efficient manner within company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

· Control inspection of all manufacturing equipment

· Coordinates with production supervisor to complete projects and work efficiently

· Perform basic mechanical skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting of production machines

· Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service

· Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and on production equipment

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Safety

· Follow all safety procedures including the wearing of all required personal protective equipment.

· At no times will enter a confined space.

· Understand all Job Safety Analysis and comply with all safety rules

Quality

· Read, follow, and understand manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures.

· Complete all required paperwork and documentation accurately and legibly.

· Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.

· Maintain timely completion of tasks to ensure high standards for customer service.

· Must take instructions from other supervisors at times.

· Observe practices consistent with our Customer Service Quality Program.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands:

· Frequent sitting, walking, climbing and lifting. ­

· Occasional twisting of upper body.

· Frequent reaching, grasping and hand movement

· Frequent near/far vision.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

· Must be at least 18 years of age.

· Read and write in English.

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

· 2-3 years of relevant work experience required

· Experience in the Dietary Supplement or Pharmaceutical industry is desirable

· Working knowledge of GMPs

· Good verbal and written communication

· Good attendance and punctuality

· Must be flexible and able to work overtime when required
