Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic works under the responsibility of the Production/Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance mechanic is responsible for conducting and executing equipment repairs and the preventive maintenance program of all plant equipment for the purpose of achieving equipment efficiency, production, and quality control goals. Also responsible for the upkeep of the facility.
Essential Position Functions:
OHSE:
o Know and implement Amcor Safety & Environmental Policies to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
o Conduct equipment operational safety inspection. Implement safety procedures prior to interventions.
o Issue work permit to co-worker or contractor in the absence of manager or OHSE coordinator.
o Conduct safety behavior audit on co-workers and contractors. Submit reports on safety violation, near misses or dangerous situations. Conduct OHSE corrective requests according to action plan.
o Implement Man-Machine-Interface safety program.
Maintenance:
o Implement/execute equipment repair and maintenance program.
o Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual plant equipment maintenance.
o Work together with the production scheduler to schedule equipment maintenance without impacting production.
o Conduct production equipment repairs as needed or according to plant action plans.
o Source and manufacture spare parts needed for equipment maintenance.
o Purchase parts and identify alternate suppliers.
o Contact and schedule contractors to perform equipment repairs when needed.
o Assist the Maintenance/Production Manager achieve continuous improvement goals on plant maintenance, continuous improvement, OEE, equipment upgrades or process modifications.
o Maintain a parts inventory management, including development of new parts and expansion of inventory system.
o Train co-workers to perform minor preventive maintenance & 6S to improve machine efficiency.
o Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and trouble shoot failures on equipment and implement solution.
o Perform electrical analysis and troubleshooting – US/European standards.
o Troubleshoot PLC errors.
o Learn basic operation of production equipment to better perform repairs and preventive maintenance.
o Track and submit machine downtime report due to machine breakdowns to Production Manager
o Write/update maintenance procedures and work instructions.
o Track equipment downtime to determine areas needing improvement.
o Create KPIs and review with Production Manager in a weekly and monthly basis.
EXPERIENCE:
o PLC/HMI
o AC and DC current
o Electrical, Mechanic and pneumatics troubleshooting
o HVAC basic Preventive Maintenance and minor repairs
o Air compressor basic Preventive Maintenance and minor repairs
o Wine bottle screw caps printing equipment (Desired)
o Welding (Preferred)
Position Requirements
5 years minimum maintenance experience in the industry or similar position
Electrical training certification
Able to self-manage, organize, and prioritize workload
Reliable and exceptional communication skills
Interest in company values, products, and success
Ability to adapt to new systems and responsibilities
Work overtime to complete repairs as needed
Willing to adjust schedule based on business needs, overtime, weekends or rotate shifts as needed
Qualifications:
· Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
· Knowledge of wine bottle screw caps printing equipment - preferred
· Demonstrate leadership within the team.
· Possess an elevated level of attention-to-detail and maintain accuracy in a demanding environment.
· Be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime.
· Must be able to efficiently read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
· Excellent communication and organization skills.
· Computer knowledge, MS programs: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point
