RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or structure of an establishment in repair.
- Duties may involve pipe fittings; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; repairing building, floors, or stairs.
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or material. Performing general physical activities-climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
- Perform all types of plant maintenance with working knowledge of all types of hand and power tools.
- Trouble shoot and repair AC/DC electrical systems. Can be assigned other tasks by supervisor when necessary.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Millwright certification preferred
- Welding certification preferred
- Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic/ Hydraulic post secondary
- Knowledge of P.L.C's
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3-4 years industrial environment experience
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety, health, and quality
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team with minimal supervision
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven record of teamwork & leadership skills.
- Use of both arms, hands, legs, and feet are required.
- Posses a thorough knowledge of all types of mechanical conveying systems along with the basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, understand and troubleshoot 3 phase motor controls, ability to use a multi-meter to test and troubleshoot 24 VDC, 120 VAC, and 480 VAC 3 phase power circuits.
- PLC experience is a plus
- Some overtime hours may be required
- Committed to working in a zero harm workplace.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, twisting, crawling.
- Must not be hearing or sight impaired.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, reaching, and grasping.
- Must be dependable with good attendance record.
