Job Description:
The Maintenance Mechanic position Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, motor controls, 480v motors, forklift maintenance, sorter, pick to light, print and apply, Some of these are more applicable to the fulfillment industry, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing assigned maintenance duties.
● Installs, modifies, improves, repairs and makes adjustments on new or existing warehouse equipment, machinery, portable-powered equipment and building grounds, using the best possible methods and systems. Adheres to good safety practices in working methods and use of equipment.
● Provides assistance with maintaining, repairing, testing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic and related component systems throughout the facility.
● Fabricates replacement and/or new parts when making regular or emergency repairs to machinery and equipment.
● Operates lathe, mill, saws and drilling machines for fabrication of parts to close tolerance dimensions when working from sketches, drawings, blueprints, or verbal instructions.
● Uses hand power tools, gauges and meters normally associated with maintenance tasks, i.e. hand drill, pipe threaders, calipers, simpson, etc.
● Welds (mig and arc), soldiers and braze metal parts.
● Fabricates simple sheet metal assemblies.
● Performs carpentry duties as necessary to construct or maintain company equipment. ● Repairs or makes new plumbing installations.
● Performs painting duties on building and equipment.
● Installs, troubleshoots and repairs or replaces electrical controls and motors.
● Performs preventive maintenance duties on plant facilities and equipment.
● Assist Facility Electrician with preventive maintenance on all electrical and control systems. Including all power panels throughout the facility.
● Assist Facility Electrician with repairs on all electrical and electronic equipment, including the replacement of parts.
● Operates forklift and other powered equipment as may require.
● Assists Maintenance Mechanics and provides elementary instructions regarding electrical and electronic techniques.
● Available to work overtime when required with last minute notice, or if called in after working hours, on emergency calls.
● Follow safe working practices to protect self and others.
● Practices good housekeeping in performing all work.
● Performs all maintenance work, inspections and checks as directed by work orders or maintenance supervisor/Manager.
● Generates appropriate paperwork (i.e., report writing).
● May assist in training and providing work direction to other mechanics. ● Performs other duties as assigned.
● Works weekends and holidays, as required by company maintenance priorities, machine installation schedules and plant emergencies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum 5 year experience in a Maintenance Mechanic environment.

PHYSICAL DEMAND
Regularly lift and/or move objects 40-75 lbs occasionally.
Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
