Job Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the General Maintenance Mechanic conducts troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance services to equipment throughout the plant, builds and assembles new equipment, performs preventative maintenance services and general building maintenance tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

Basic skills include but are not limited to:

· Preferred experience for semi-skilled General Maintenance Mechanic: 2 years

· Experience as a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC in a manufacturing facility or has graduated from an applicable trade school program

· Strong background in mechanical systems and knowledge of thee phase electric, automated systems and controls, including basic programmable logic controllers (PLC)

· Read and understand blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics, and technical manuals.

· Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical drives, pump repairs, plumbing and other general facility repairs as well as machine shop practices.

· Trained in LOTO and lift truck operation

· Experience utilizing welding machines to maintain metal equipment, structures and frameworks of multiple dimensions and sizes.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted

Preferred:

· Roll Form machine maintenance and operation experience

· Confined space, hot work, and line breaking training

Physical Requirements

· Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands at arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.

· Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

· Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision

· Regular, predictable attendance is required; including work hours as business demands dictate.
