POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for oversight of the Maintenance function for the Kermit Plant. Responsible for planning, coordinating and day to day monitoring of all preventative and ongoing maintenance as needed by the operations teams.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

1. Maintenance of plant equipment and systems.

2. Recommendation and development of budgets for selected capital improvement initiatives.

3. Development and documentation of comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all equipment.

4. Working closely with safety representative when maintenance issues lead into safety issues, changes or recommendations.

5. Administering the preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant equipment to provide improvements in safety, productivity, and quality.

6. Management and maintenance of relationships with vendors that provide specialized service (hydraulic, diesel, electric, pneumatic, other.)

7. Reviewing, approving and prioritizing work requests for mechanical repairs and all safety and work permits.

8. Working closely with Construction Project management team to support special project construction or additions.

9. Responsible for employee compliance with all plant facility operating policies, procedures and safety rules.

10. Responsible for coordinating communication and directives with labor force, company personnel, and management.

11. Strive to continuously improve the level of service at the plant, through constant evaluation of processes and standards

12. Planning loadout operator work schedules to ensure required staffing for 24/7 operation

13. Ensuring safety and environmental practices are maintained and all regulatory requirements are met and exceeded

14. Maintain necessary files and reports

15. Maintain staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and developing employees

16. Prepare performance evaluations and providing feedback to direct reports to improve performance and to provide discipline when necessary in support of company policies and procedures

17. Establish effective industry relationships

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

1. HS Diploma or GED required

2. BA or BS degree preferred

Experience & Skills:

1. 5+ Years’ Experience in maintenance management with prior experience in the energy, distribution and/or industrial minerals sectors highly desirable.

2. Prior experience with silica, aggregate or similar industry strongly preferred.

3. Strong mechanical knowledge required; knowledge of sand and proppant applications strongly preferred.

4. Experience with conveying systems required.

5. Welding and Fabricating experience required.

6. Strong mechanical knowledge of maintenance procedures and machinery functions required.

7. Prior experience with maintaining plant and heavy mobile equipment required

8. Diesel Maintenance and Hydraulic experience preferred and operating heavy equipment preferred.

9. BS in Engineering, Business or equivalent preferred.

10. Basic proficiency with Microsoft word and excel spreadsheet applications required desirable.

11. Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills.

12. Strong Leadership skills.

13. Self-motivator/self-starter with a positive attitude.

14. Problem solver/Problem solving techniques.

15. Able to manage and work with and train others.

16. Work performed in a plant environment and outdoors with constant exposure to inclement weather conditions.

17. Safety glasses, hardhat, and steel toe boots must be worn.

Certifications & Licenses:

1. Valid state driver’s license with no active violations within the previous three years

Physical Demands:

F (Frequently) Position requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)

1. Frequently Lift/Carry or Push/Pull 50 lbs

Other Physical Requirements:

1. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility

2. Work in this position is performed in a plant, processing or terminal environment; therefore, the incumbent is subject to mandatory, regular medical screening as required by the company’s safety policies.
