Overview
The Paris Energy Center located in Paris, Texas, is a 2x1 combined cycle natural gas power plant. It incorporates two GE 7EA combustion turbines paired with a GE steam turbine, collectively generating 260 MW of electricity.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the plant's maintenance program, ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency. This role involves managing daily maintenance activities, coordinating outage planning, and maintaining an up-to-date Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The Maintenance Manager also plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety, developing plant improvement projects, and enhancing community engagement. With a focus on performance, safety, and community responsibility, this role is essential for the plant's continued success. The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and supervises subordinate maintenance personnel.
Essential Duties
The scope of responsibility will include, but is not limited to, the following primary functions:
- Implement the plant's preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance program
- Manage equipment failure records and utilize them to diagnose the root causes of failures
- Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance staff
- Manage and monitor both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, as well as coordinate outage activities, including outage planning
- Ensure the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is actively used and kept up to date by maintenance personnel for tracking equipment maintenance history, work orders, purchase orders, and inventory control
- Oversee and manage maintenance team staffing, training, and qualification plans for all operations and maintenance phases
- Assist in locating, screening, and hiring plant personnel
- Ensure alignment of maintenance personnel goals with facility and owner objectives
- Foster a safe work environment and promote a culture of safety awareness among all plant personnel, actively ensuring the safety of others
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to identify necessary maintenance activities to maintain and enhance plant operability
- Identify and execute plant improvement projects aimed at enhancing plant performance and reducing corrective maintenance activities
- Develop a reliability-centered maintenance program to minimize maintenance costs while maximizing plant availability
- Enhance the plant's image as a good neighbor in the community and the environment
- Provide leadership to all plant personnel
- Conduct periodic reviews of plant maintenance policies and procedures to ensure they align with current plant goals, operating requirements, and industry best-in-class standards
- Maintain dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance in this position
- Complete special projects as required by the Plant Manager
- Ensure actions and maintenance to comply with all regulatory requirements (NERC, NFPA, Texas RE, ERCOT etc.
Job Qualifications
- Extensive power plant combined cycle maintenance technical and leadership experience with a work history that demonstrates a pattern of accomplishments and advancement
- Technical education preferred. Experience can be substituted in lieu of education
- Experience managing direct reports
- A minimum of five (5+) years of experience in Power Plant operations/maintenance or a similar field is required
- Proven experience in managing maintenance programs, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, preferably in a power plant or similar industrial setting
- Strong technical knowledge of power plant equipment and systems, including the ability to diagnose equipment failures and implement best practices for plant performance improvement
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to oversee and coordinate maintenance staff effectively, ensuring a safe and productive work environment
- Ability to trouble-shoot both mechanical and electrical/I&C issues; Including those that overlap mechanical & electrical
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and practices, with a track record of promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture within a team or organization
- Experience in developing and implementing maintenance programs, including the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and reliability-centered maintenance approaches
- Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address maintenance challenges and implement improvements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.). There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
This position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule, during regular dayshift hours. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required. Some travel may be involved to participate in Manager, Owner, User Group, or other offsite meetings.
