Job Summary:
Manages all maintenance related activities of PET plant. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of
all plant equipment, building and grounds, training of maintenance personnel, and handling of employee
relation matters.
Ensure compliance with established standards in the areas of food quality & safety and employee safety.
Identify and implement opportunities for improvement. Member of the Food Safety Team.
Although certain positions have specific tasks and responsibilities with respect to food safety, the food
safety and high quality of all products manufactured by Terphane LLC. is, in general, the responsibility of
every Terphane employee.
Essential Functions:
- Set goals for department and ensures continuous improvement of department.
- Defines priorities, directs and coordinates the overall activities of maintenance personnel including electrical, compressed gases, water, refrigeration systems and mechanical operations to provide uninterrupted service. (15%)
- Directs and acts as a liaison between company and all outside and building maintenance contractors for PMs, electrical, capital projects, routine maintenance, etc. (10%)
- Project management of facility engineering activities and capital project initiatives. (10%)
- Assists maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and resolving problems beyond their ability including electrical, mechanical and fluid power equipment. (10%)
- Develops and manages preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maintain machinery and equipment in proper working condition. (10%)
- Accountable for employee performance, reviews, day decisions/recommendations for staffing, training, resource management, disciplinary and other personnel actions.
- Maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep at plant facility. (10%)
- Manages the work order system. (5%)
- Responsible for maintaining the budget and tracking capital expenditures. (5%)
- Ensures the plant activities meet environmental, OSHA and risk management recommended regulations. Lead assigned safety programs as required, such as lock out-tagout and confined space. (5%)
- Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction. (5%)
- Responsible for electrical and mechanical equipment layouts and the modification of facilities within the plant. (5%)
- Summarizes, monitors, and takes action regarding performance metric data

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 years of maintenance experience with minimum one year
supervisory/Facilities management experience; and/or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Software:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Forklift Certification
Key Results Areas:
1. Maintain maintenance spending within budget.
2. Achieve biax mechanical/electrical downtime as assigned.
3. Achieve slitter mechanical/electrical down time as assigned.
4. Support engineering in the implementation of continuous improvement and capital projects.
5. Maintain adequate spare parts inventory to insure machine operability while meeting budgetary
requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required walk; bend; climb; use hands to
handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch. The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include
close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outdoor conditions; and with electrical current and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally may be subject to high temperatures and high noise levels for short periods of time. All safety equipment is available and required to be used where and when needed. Occasional travel to customer and/or vendor sites may be required.
