Description

Responsible for providing direction, coordination and follow-up necessary to the administration of Program Launch for new Maintenance area.  Work independently under general direction of the Launch Manager and plant Maintenance Area Manager.  Work involves a considerable amount of perception and initiative in order to make decisions.

Act as Launch Group Leader for Maintenance processes and teams:

  • Function as Business Planner for new maintenance area
  • Coordinate support group activities related to program
  • Work with CME to coordinate timing of equipment installation with production process requirements
  • Act as champion for integration of GMS processes into new product Launch
  • Lead maintenance activities related to PPAP and ramp up
  • Develop and implement required PMs and Spare Parts to enable achievement of uptime targets
  • Plan and execute training for maintenance teams
  • Manage Workstation and Operation Readiness processes
  • Report planning progress to management
  • Regular contact with others outside the work group
  • Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
  • Coordinate input from internal/external customers to understand customer needs and/or perceptions

Additional Description

Basic Required

  • 3yr+ commitment to project
  • Ability to travel, though may be limited (able to obtain/maintain a valid passport)
  • Production experience in supervisory role
  • Demonstrated familiarity with GMS principals
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical or electrical concepts
  • Knowledge of maintenance and construction standards / codes, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of GM Maintenance System including CMMS/MAXIMO
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area
