Form of workMaintenance Laborers are responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the maintenance facility grounds. Laborers may also perform custodial duties in the offices, maintenance shops, etc. This position may also assist in various lines of business. This position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, squatting, reaching, stretching, and working in awkward positions. The hours and physical demand may vary by location.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Groundskeeping of the Maintenance Facility and surrounding areas.
- Required to drive for road calls for oil spill clean up, and parts pick up.
- Operate various hand-held manual, electrical and gas-powered tools, and equipment. Maintain and ensure the safe operating condition of assigned equipment and tools according to company policy and OSHA.
- Pressure-wash and perform minor repairs to shop tools, bins, containers, and shop-based tasks.
- Perform safe driving practices while transporting, loading, and unloading shop supplies, parts, and tools.
- Assist with general housekeeping of maintenance shops and offices.
- Perform minor repairs and general upkeep of the maintenance facility.
- Clean, prepare, and paint containers.
- Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
- Assist in various lines of business, as needed. (i.e. technician helper).
- Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- May assist in other projects or areas of the shop as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including lifting, carrying. reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing).
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Self-starter, aggressive work ethic, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Safety conscious.
- Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements.
Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:
- Possible exposure to high-traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
- Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
- Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.

Experience
