Maintenance Laborer (2nd Shift)- Louisville, KY

Night-Shift - approximate shift times of 4 p.m. - 2 a.m.

Starting pay for entry level night shift candidates is $27/hr. This includes a $23/hr. base pay + $4/hr. shift differential. Pay will be determined based on experience. Experienced candidates are preferred. 

Jefferson County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking a night shift Maintenance Laborer for our operation located in Louisville, KY. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:

• Routine equipment/plant maintenance
• Operating production equipment
• Involved with plant improvement projects
• Inspect and perform daily repairs and maintenance on plant
• Inspect and maintain crushers, conveyors, screens, and other equipment
• Other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a dedication to safe work practices
• Previous maintenance experience
• Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed
• Must be willing to work a regular 5pm-3am shift
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
• Must be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. 
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience welding and cutting is preferred
• Experience in heavy equipment is preferred, but not required
• Working knowledge of quarry utilities and equipment including crushers, conveyors, scales, etc.
