Maintenance Electrical Technician - Vitamin Manufacturer
Full-Time
Work Schedule: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Mon-Fri)
Hourly rate: $28.00 - $37.50

JOB PURPOSE: 
  • To perform equipment and electrical repairs on production equipment.
 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work in a team or autonomously to complete work orders and provide maintenance/electrical support.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to increase equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Performs repairs and installations on all plant air conditioning systems. 
  • Completes electrical maintenance as assigned.
  • Solve and maintain PLC and variable speed drive-controlled high-speed production equipment and batch processes.
  • Performs equipment inspections to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Communicates repair functions with production supervisors.
  • Identifies and communicates safety hazards and quality deficiencies to maintenance management.
  • Adhere to plant safety and 5S requirements; Complete assigned work efficiently and per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Knows and complies with all safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain the power distribution of plant equipment.
  • Interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive electrical maintenance requirements for engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Troubleshooting skills, locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for electrical problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining the form and texture of parts.
  • Inspect, solve, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • A high degree of technical aptitude and skill to learn the function and repair of plant production equipment.
  • Self-starter able to take direction and problem solves to repair and maintain plant production equipment and systems.
  • Good written and verbal skills with basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Ability to fix and re-wire high-speed and/or highly automated equipment such as AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, servo motors, and PLC I/O modules.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office Excel proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred.
     
EDUCATION:
  • High School or equivalent preferred.
  • Formal training in one or more of the following: General Industrial Maintenance, Hydraulics, Industrial Electrical Systems, PLC Programming, Industrial Refrigeration, Compressors, Pneumatic.
 
EXPERIENCE:
  •  Three (3) years experience in a production/manufacturing environment working in an Electrical Maintenance capacity.
  •  Mechanical and Electrical experience needed for stationary machinery.
