Job description

Summary

This position directs and manages the activities for the maintenance supervisors and, when required, fills in for the maintenance supervisors. Responsible for interviewing and hiring; planning and directing work, appraising performance, managing the apprenticeship program. Also accountable for setting up and strengthening such programs as Root Cause Failure Analysis, TPM, Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Quality, Safety and others as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage projects & activities in conjunction with the maintenance supervisors
  • Fill in for maintenance supervisors when they are absent and manage hourly maintenance technicians
  • Develop and drive the following programs including the Autoneum maintenance programs: PM, TPM, RCFA, FMEA, PDM, Quality, Safety Company & State Regulations, and others as assigned
  • Review and analyze data from SAP for predictive and preventative maintenance
  • Minimize downtime through utilization of proactive maintenance approaches
  • Work with Operations, Engineering and Tooling to identify improvement opportunities based on downtime, cycle time, quality and other inputs. Develop and implement activities and projects for these improvement opportunities.
  • Manage APS maintenance requirements and ensure they are implemented throughout the operation
  • Evaluate the need for replacement and spare parts and coordinate stock with the Store Room. Identify and validate suitable alternate spare and replacement parts for cost improvement and communization.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Maintenance, contractor and vendor activities
  • Develop policies and set expectations to ensure EHS objectives, activities and plans are achieved
  • Attend CFT meetings and act as liaison between maintenance and other departments
  • Plan for interruptions in work schedules and develop back-up plans
  • Assist in development and execution of department 5S plans and activities
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor(s) to manage Maintenance Technician skills assessments, identify training needs, develop and execute training plans and conduct Technician performance reviews.

Education / Experience

  • Associates degree (minimum) in related field required
  • 6 years of relevant work experience in mechanical maintenance

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and interpret technical communications and blueprints
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and other internal customers
  • Math, engineering, blueprint & CAD skills are required problem solving
  • High degree of people skills in order to motivate and influence others
  • Demonstrate ability to deal effectively with people under varying circumstances
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions
  • Creativity and flexibility is required as a variety of tasks will have to be preformed
  • All Microsoft applications
  • SAP maintenance applications
