Position Title: Maintenance Assistant
Department: Compliance and Systems Security
Job Purpose:Assists the Maintenance Manager with coordinating and performing routine maintenance and grounds keeping at facilities owned and/or operated by Platte County Board of Services.
Evaluated By: Maintenance Manager
Supervision Given: None
Classification: Non-Exempt
Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED/HiSET with relative experience required.
- Age 18, valid driver’s license, and good driving record
- Successfully pass a background check.
- Eligibility to work in the U. S.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with general maintenance and grounds keeping.
- Strong work ethic and self-starter who can independently identify, quickly analyze, communicate, and solve problems but always happy to assist others.
- Superior oral and written communication skills in both internal and external settings.
- Must have ability to use computer and other electronic equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 suite of apps.
- Successful passing Maintenance Sills Assessment - this will be sent as a separate link after application.

- Supports persons served to lead their healthy, clean, and safe lifestyle by completing general maintenance tasks, work orders, and facility improvement projects.
- Utilize basic general maintenance and grounds keeping knowledge to support PCBS facilities.
Ensures Excellence in Maintaining PCBS Facilities
- Maintain the PCBS Maintenance Portal documentation.
- Assist with maintaining safety documentation as it pertains to facility maintenance.
- Assist with completing preventative and routine facility maintenance.
- Assist with completing maintenance projects, tasks include:
- Scheduling of vendors to come onsite to learn the scope of the project.
- Assist with acquiring bids and coordinating contractors, as directed.
- May meet with vendors to oversee the work.
- Ensure bid process meets PCBS purchasing policy and procedures.
- Assist with preparing documentation and bids to be presented to the Director for approval.
- Ensure all work is up to PCBS standards and meets local code.
- Assist with researching options for major expenditures.
- Assist with completing maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
- Assist with completing maintenance items identified on the safety and maintenance remediation report.
- Perform seasonal maintenance tasks.

- Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Job demands include extended periods of standing with some periods of climbing.
- Will regularly require moderate to heavy lifting, and occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching, or bending as appropriate.
- Will possibly require some physical intervention if confronted by a person displaying combative or potentially dangerous behavior.
- Will require driving agency vehicles and equipment.
- Home/yard/office environment with noise from residents, appliances, and power tools.
- Will have a moderate use of computers and/or other devices and screens.
- May be exposed to electricity, natural gas, household, or lawn care chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites.
