Proper Cannabis is seeking a skilled and reliable Retail MaintenanceAssistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and appearance of our retail facility. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including repairs, installations, and general upkeep of the store premises. The Retail Maintenance Assistant will play a crucial role in creating a positive and safe environment for both customers and employees. This position is responsible for upholding Proper Cannabis's mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
The Retail Maintenance Assistant will need reliable transportation (will be traveling from St. Louis County, Warren County, and occasionally servicing our store in Kansas City) and be willing to work varying hours. The initial schedule is Monday - Friday from 8 am - 3 pm (full-time employment), but in the case of an emergency, you may be asked to work during other times of the day/night, and potentially come in on the weekends. The pay for this role starts at $18/hour.
Responsibilities:
Manages the general maintenance and upkeep of all Proper Brands Retail locations. This work may include but is not limited too.
- Conducting routine inspections of the retail facility to identify and address maintenance issues;
- Performing repairs and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work;
- Installing and maintaining store fixtures, shelving, and displays to enhance the overall presentation of merchandise for retail locations;
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring timely resolution of issues;
- Monitoring and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, coordinating with external service providers for complex repairs;
- Keeping track of inventory for maintenance supplies and equipment, and reordering as needed;
- Conducting preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and systems;
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards, taking appropriate measures to prevent accidents;
- Collaborating with store management and staff to address maintenance-related concerns and providing assistance as needed;
- Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the maintenance workspace.
Manages the general maintenance and upkeep of all Proper Brands Headquarters and warehouse locations. This work may include but is not limited to:
- Maintaining, servicing, and conducting minor repairs on buildings and equipment;?
- Performing a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or drywall repair;?
- Assisting maintenance engineers and other workers with their tasks;??
- Complying with established safety guidelines and procedures;??
- Adhering to the maintenance policy and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment;??
- Following safety standards, conforming to specifications, and ensuringwork orders are tracked and completed within the budgeted guidelines;?
- Assisting with creation of and adherence to routine cleaning schedule for common areas and restrooms for all properties;?
- Attending to the grounds, maintaining a clean, well-kept appearance to entryways and outdoor areas;?
- Taking inventory of supplies and goods, delivering reorder requests for all properties to the Facilities Manager.?
Qualifications:
The following education, skills and experience are required for this role:
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance, especially plumbing, electrical, and HVAC;
- Familiarity and experience with painting, drywall repair, building and repairing furniture, installing shelving, repairing equipment, and performing maintenance on appliances;
- Ability to obtain a Missouri Agent ID by start date;
- Must be 21 years of age or older;
- Valid Driver's License & Clear MV report based on company MV requirements;
Environment:
This position requires the ability to reach, bend, stoop, sit, stand, climb stairs and ladders, crawl into small spaces, walk on uneven terrain, endure extreme temperatures, manage personal exposure to numerous soil and air contaminates, carry and lift equipment up to 50lbs. The work environment is an environmentally controlled warehouse and various retail locations.
