Job Title: Main Office Receptionist
Organization: Exploration Elementary Charter School for Science and Technology
Reports To: Finance & Operations Manager
Duration: 12-Month Position
Position Summary
The Main Office Receptionist acts as a gatekeeper for Exploration. They allow access to other staff, answer phones, transfer calls, answer questions, give directions and manage the flow of traffic in the Main Office. It is the Main Office Receptionist who greets anyone who enters the building so it is crucial to have verbal communication skills, active listening and great customer service skills. The Main Office Receptionist plays a vital role in the School and is the face of the organization. This is the first and the last department where a visitor interacts. The Main Office Receptionist is responsible for creating first hand impressions regarding the level of services and facilities provided.
Essential Functions
As the Main Office Receptionist:
Performs record keeping and general clerical functions including but not limited to: filing, faxing, answering phones, etc.
Facilitates Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals
Greets visitors and adheres to the Visitor Policy
Supports daily routines such as arrival, dismissal, escorting early dismissal students, retrieving extra breakfast supplies as needed
Facilitates school wide lamination process as outlined by school leaders
Reconcile daily attendance
Performs other duties as assigned by school leaders
Requirements:Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 3-years’ experience in a similar role
- Able to work flexible hours as determined by school leaders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with ease
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and/or GSuite
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar
- Experience working in an urban school setting
- Types 60+ wpm
