Job Summary:
The Mail room clerk is responsible for the timely and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing mail for the Fund Office , including sorting, picking up, and delivering mail. Additionally, this position is also responsible for maintaining Fund Office files, office maintenance and acts as a back up to the receptionist and other tasks as assigned.
Major Responsibilities:
- Process incoming mail and packages, including sorting all mail; the timely delivery of mail and parcels in accordance with established schedules.
- Maintain and update Fund Office files.
- Process outgoing mailings, and packages, using postage and mailing machines.
- Handle deliveries to and from offices and the post office.
- Back up to the receptionist; answering phones; greeting guests, etc.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum one year of office experience in a mail room department.
- High School education preferred.
- Experience with mailing equipment.
- Some experience with maintaining files.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift and carry packages and items up to 65 pounds.
- Ability to push or pull hand trucks weighing up to 65 pounds.
- Good communication skills, including phone skills.
