Job Description:
The Mail Room Clerk, along with the Mailroom Coordinator, is responsible for taking care of all mail needs on campus for students, faculty and staff and has the following essential functions:
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Receive and sign for all parcel packages delivered by FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, UPS, and DHL.
- Perform daily pickup and drop-off of USPS parcel packages and paper mail at the Marietta USPS facility.
- Perform daily sorting of USPS packages and letter mail.
- Scan in all parcel packages into the Quadient System by recipient name for pickup at mailroom or self-serve lockers.
- As students, faculty and staff come in, log out the packages, obtain recipients' signatures, and provide them with their respective packages and paper mail.
- Process metered mail as needed.
- Process bulk mailings as needed. This includes getting the list of names and addresses from the applicable department, getting the self-mailers or envelopes, processing the database through the Quadient Equipment in order to properly barcode, printing envelopes or mailers, and, finally, putting the envelopes/mailers in proper trays and covering, strapping and delivering to USPS for mailing.
- Process outgoing packages and sales of USPS, UPS, FedEx.
- Receive and sort internal campus mail.
- Perform postage stamp sales.

Requirements:
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Good computer skills including the ability to use Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to independently handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to manage a small group of college student workers.
- Operate small cargo vehicle for package and letter transportation.
Required Experience & Education:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years' experience working in a mail room preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Required to stand the majority of the time, bend, and have good manual dexterity to complete projects.
