A Mail Clerk plays a crucial role in managing incoming and outgoing mail within an organization. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Mail Clerk is responsible for sorting, distributing, and processing mail and packages to ensure timely delivery to the intended recipients.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming mail, packages, and deliveries from postal or courier services.
- Sort incoming mail and packages based on department, recipient, or other criteria for efficient distribution.
- Distribute mail and packages to appropriate recipients within the organization, either personally or through internal mail systems.
- Process outgoing mail, including stamping, weighing, and affixing postage as required.
- Prepare bulk mailings, such as newsletters or promotional materials, for distribution.
- Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, envelope sealers, and mail sorting machines safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail, including tracking information and delivery statuses.
