Machinist | Plasma Operator

ReadyWork Inc. is hiring for a Machinist | Plasma Operator for the Selma area. The Machinist/Plasma Operatoris responsible for shift production requirements on the XRP300 air arc plasma cutting machine. Requires use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes. Performance of this operation requires skills and knowledge on a variety of equipment. While not inclusive, major items of equipment utilized are a Gantry crane, load and unload cutting tables, dust collection systems and plasma cutting machines. General support equipment includes the use of overhead cranes, rigging equipment, small torch cutting equipment, forklifts, and a variety of small hand tools.

Position Shift: Monday – Friday (11am-7:30pm, includes shift differential)

Responsibilities

• Computer operation, downloading programs, generating programs from files and basic keyboarding skills.
• Maintain production report as required.
• Perform daily and routine maintenance.
• Dimensional inspection of product using standard measuring equipment.
• Move parts from cut table to staging area.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, assignments, drawings, and reference material.
• Ability to apply basic math to calculate parts to a sheet of material and deduct daily usage on plate sheet turn-in.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Capable of directing a 2-3-person crew.
• Capable of operating overhead cranes, using spreader bars, chains, slings and other various under hook devices.
• Ability to evaluate equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
• Follow all safety and operating instructions.
• Follow all quality methods and standards.
• Responsible for housekeeping in work area.
• All other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent
• 3-5 Years of relevant experience
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and make decisions based on them.
• Capable of watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Excellent communication skills
• Crane operation skills
• Knowledge of raw materials sizes, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective
• Manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, general operation, repair, and maintenance
• Good computer skills including a working knowledge of manufacturing software.
• Mathematics ability
• Ability to read blueprints.

Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications

• Certificate from technical school or 6 additional months of relevant experience and/or training in computerized numerically controlled (CNC) machine operations.
• 1-year experience in computer-controlled machine operation.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Pay: $18.75 - $26.75 / hour
