Machine Shop Operations Manager

A company in Machesney Park, IL is looking for a Operations Manager for a 1st shift opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Plan the allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to achieve performance targets.
• Create a daily job assignment schedule for the department.
• Communication to production team regarding performance expectations, performance needs, and safety standards.
• Responsible for cordinating the training of new employees on all aspects of the shop floor, procedures, and equipment.
• Monitor daily metrics such as attendance, floor productivity and through put.

Qualifications:

• Must have a vast knowledge of manufacturing, production shops, process improvement, and manufacturing equipment and machines.
• Prior CNC Machine Shop experience strongly preferred.
• Must have prior management experience in a production manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, 5-6 day work week is typical.
• Must have good knowledge of safety practices, quality inspection systems and processes, and lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Strong pc background. ERP/MRP, excel and other shop programs.

Salary info:

$31 - $38 / hr
