Job Description
This role may perform all tasks involved in the production of the company’s products. This includes weaving, warping, winding, coating, cutting, sewing, baling, carding, drawing, and packing. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
- Pay Rate: $15.00 Per Hour with a $0.75 weekly perfect attendance incentive to equal.
- Hours: 2nd shift 4:00 pm-12:00 am, 3rd shift 12:00 am-8:00 am.
- Must be willing to train on 1st shift 8am-4pm for about 2-4wks (depending on how fast you learn your role)
- Keep empty cans in the can changer at cards.
- Push full card sliver cans to draw.
- Push empty cans to cards.
- Remove empty cans from the conveyor and load full cans onto the conveyor.
- Load empty cans to empty can chute on front of frame.
- Push empty can to the storage area at intermediate, get full can, push to finisher drawing frame, creel into the frame, turn cans, and aside waste.
- Position cans for doffing.
- Repair breaks: Front, lap-ups, and creel breaks.
- Clean drafting zone, inside frame, and outside of frame.
- Check feeders and quality of fabric before starting machine.
- Make sure enough yarn in on feeders.
- Check quality of fabric in machine.
- Watch for press-off going down into take-up.
- Make sure machine is fully creeled and tied in.
- Make sure to run yarn completely off the cones.
- Blow off and clean machines along with the area around machine.
- Safety glasses required when using air guns.
- Blow off tubing creel and yarn.
- Log all the defects on flag sheets.
- Miscellaneous duties assigned by supervisor.
- Open bales of fiber with wire cutters.
- Hand-feed fibers into the hopper.
- Install wires in the baler for new bales.
- Operate baler to remove bales.
- Transport and weigh bales using a forklift.
- Capture miscellaneous fiber to bale press.
- Doff cloth rolls from knitting machines.
- Begin new roll by using the proper length tube.
- Make sure to lock latches on both sides of knitting machine.
- After doffing cloth roll have knitting operator inspect latches before starting machine.
- Weigh rolls and record information on ticket.
- Document all rolls/stars in journal.
- If ticket is starred: Cut off a half yard of fabric to be measured and punched, verify weight and width is in range (if out of range, notify supervisor or technician immediately). Record the following information on ticket: Date, shift, machine #, piece #, lot #, style #, punch weight and width. Leave cut fabric on measuring table for the lab to obtain.
- Put rolls on correct racks by style.
- After doffing cloth roll have knitting operator inspect latches before starting machine.
- Keep knitting aisles clean.
- Help knitting operators creel yarn.
- Empty boxes of tubes/cones from each machine
