Job Description
TITLE: MACHINE OPERATOR I
DEPARTMENT: MANUFACTURING
REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Perform cutting of foam materials in a correct and safe manner according to specifications to produce quality products and maintain accurate documentation.
1. Perform the following necessary tasks to produce cut foam products using the following machinery.
- T-Tarp
- Edge-Sweets
- Convoluter
- ISM #1
- ISM #2
- BSR
- Die Click
2. Verify that the product is being made properly and conforms to quality standards.
3. Able to locate and organize all raw materials for production.
4. Basic Understanding of 5S and lean principles
5. Utilize UDI app to print necessary labels for production
6. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
7. Minimize scrap through proper and careful handling of materials.
8. Accurately complete and maintain all necessary paperwork.
9. Notify supervision or maintenance of machinery problems or breakdowns.
10. Perform assigned maintenance tasks to keep the machine in working order.
11. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
12. Support Quality Policy, Quality System, and follow established procedures. Propose changes to existing procedures through the supervisor, understanding that changes cannot be implemented prior to formal approval in the Quality System.
13. Follow safety rules to protect yourself, co-workers, equipment, and facilities. Report unsafe,
practices and conditions.
14. Participate in quarterly inventory as assigned.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
16. Perform basic computer functions.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
This position requires lifting 75 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds; therefore, proper lifting technique is required. This is a standing position, and occasional bending, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, overhead lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, squatting, and twisting may be required. The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas and requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school degree or GED preferred
