Our team in Space and Defense is looking for a Machine Operator to join them. You will report to the Technical Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA
To be considered for the Machine Operator role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one-year completion of an approved vocational program in Machine Technology or equivalent
- Proficiency in general mathematics
- Knowledge of machine shop gauges and machines
As a Machine Operator, you will:
- Perform basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations
- Responsible for the care and application of turning/plunge and form tools
- Operate shear vise, tapping machine (manual and power), and understand different styles and types of taps and dies (metric and standard)
- Operate different types of power hand tools, grinders, drills, belt sanders, disc sanders, sand, and bead blasters
- Operate and understand power band saw, cut off saw, proper selection of speeds, feeds, tooth size, blade welding, guide setting, and blade replacement
- Complete required paperwork
