Summary - Die-Cutter Operator
Job Duties:
- Safe and efficient operation of the Die Cutter to achieve maximum quality throughout job process; consistently achieves excellent performance during make-readies and production runs by following company SOPs
- Interprets job bag information
- Adjust press to accommodate for new product sheets being cut (sets feeder, lock up die, sets stripper, blanker and delivery)
- Train personnel in cutting process operation and troubleshoot skills
- Inspection of each load run; checking random sheets to ensure quality
- If problems found, assists with flagging/isolating/tagging non-conformity product; assists with troubleshooting machinery and making proper corrections to continue processing the order
- Assists with maintaining accurate written records of production; records waste, production time, down time etc.
- Utilizes hand truck to remove loads from press
- Assists crew in the handling of dies
- Assists with maintenance duties on press as necessary
- Comply with safety regulations, maintain clean and orderly work areas, wearing all required PPE
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Able to work in a fast-paced department with strong motivation and sense of urgency
- Strong mechanical/machinery aptitude, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Advanced math ability; able to read, measure and interpret metric and standard rulers
- Advanced communication, organization and time management skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail, including color and spacing perception
- Safe use of forklift, hand trucks and pallet jacks; box knife; dies, hand and power tools
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and regular shift hours may include Sunday through Saturday. Overtime will be required when production schedules dictate.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Basic knowledge of controls and mechanisms required. Previous experience in production, warehouse and folding carton environment is preferred.
