Machine Operator

Company Summary: Trimlite is a manufacturer of decorative door-lites, stile and rail doors and a wholesale distributor of doors, millwork and building material related products to the building trade.

Position Summary: Machine Operator reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for operating machinery for the door construction and assembly process.

Responsibilities:

• Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include various hand tools.
• Reads and interprets work orders, and sets machine specifications to properly mill/cut out product
• Demonstrates product knowledge regarding proper cuts, lite kit applications, different styles and sizes, swings (inswing and outswing), and standard specifications (bore and hinge)
• Understands machine functionality for various settings, move stops on the machine bar, rise or lower routers to achieve tolerances (both bore and hinge)
• Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Assembles product according to work order specifications.
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Troubleshoots their machine and communicates with maintenance manager on issues needing resolved.
• Ability to train new employees on templates for cut-outs.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
• Thorough understanding of/ or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs. frequently.

• Previous experience in production/manufacturing environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working near moving mechanical parts and exposed to airborne particles, possible risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Pay: $23.90 - $26.43 per hour
