Glenn Metalcraft in Princeton, MN is searching for a Machine Operator to join the team on 2nd Shift. 2nd Shift hours are 2:00am - 10:00pm, Monday through Friday.
The mission of the Machine Operator is to perform basic, entry level operation of CNC machines. The Machine Operator will load and unload parts to keep machines running at capacity, and will perform good inspection and evaluation of finished parts to ensure they are held to a high standard for our customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate machinery and monitor for performance report malfunctions
- Load and unload parts in and out of machines
- Inspect quality of finished parts and report any defects
- Debur and perform part finishing as needed
- Assist with material handling and setting up product to begin jobs accordingly
- Assist Production Supervisor or Lead with tasks as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with precision tools (e.g. calipers and micrometers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Some ability to read blueprints
- Familiarity with machine tools and equipment
- Mechanically inclined and driven to learn about Metal Manufacturing
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, good attention to detail
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently
- Excellent hand/eye coordination
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ability to consistently wear personal protective equipment
- Standing, walking, and bending consistently
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools
