Job purpose
The Machine Operator position is responsible for operating the various manufacturing lines in an efficient, resourceful manner in order to reach expected production goals.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform various equipment startup processes
- Verify codes, materials, and retort configurations
- Troubleshoot potential equipment issues
- Maintain quality standards such as seals, weights, airs and cleanliness and documenting on appropriate forms within the set time limits.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization, industry, and regulatory standards and maintaining a clean and 5S work area.
Qualifications
- Prior machine operation experience with same or similar equipment preferably in food manufacturing
- Ability to make judgment calls
- Understand basic mechanical and operational principals.
- General knowledge of reading and writing.
- Must possess verbal skills to allow communication with peers, mechanics and supervisors.
- Must be able to operate a roll stock lift.
