Machine Assistant

Shift Schedule: 12 hour 2-2-3 nights

Compensation: $21.71/hour + $1.20/hour night shift premium available + 1.5x pay on Sundays!

Responsibilities Include:

• Assistants will aid in all aspects of operation
• Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
• Assist operator in running all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, print specification, color folders and standard operating procedures
• Assist operator in setting up jobs according to established S.O.C.’s (standard operating conditions), and to report and follow up on any discrepancies to the supervisor
• Assist operator in ensuring all printed material if free of defects
• Ensure all jobs are run in accordance to all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders and standard operating conditions
• Work with operator to minimize job change-over and down time
• Make every effort to see that all materials such as inks, stocks, cylinders, cores, and aniloxes are ready for the next job
• Assist and aid maintenance to get the machine back on line and productive.
• While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
• Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work)
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:

• Previous manufacturing experience a plus, not required
• Previous experience in extrusion, lamination, coating, and/or rewind a plus, not required
• Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs
• Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills
• Required to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment
