MA Pending Specialist will work closely with Admission Director & Business Office Manager to determine who will be in need of a Medicaid application.
- Create MA Pending case file.
- Enter new residents to the MA Pending Tracking Log
- Fax required documentation to the local or state agencies
- Work with RNAC’s to have the MA 51 prior to the scheduled assessment.
- Schedule PCA assessments and coordinate with families if they will be attending.
- Follow up with PCA in receiving the Options Determination Report.
- Complete state-required documents with resident and/or responsible party contact
- Work with caseworker and family to provide necessary documentation until case is approved.
- Contact banks, insurance companies, pension companies requesting verification needed to determine consumers MA eligibility.
- Meet all deadlines associated with each MA pending case to ensure that appropriate MA effective date is obtained.
This job cannot be performed without exposure to the stresses associated with an intimate, 24 hour residential care environment that delivers care and services primarily to disabled and cognitively impaired residents. Examples of these stresses include, but are not limited to: shift rotation, weekend and holiday duty, unusual or impaired behavior by residents, family reactions to having a loved one in the nursing home, death and dying, oversight of state surveyors, ombudsmen and federal officials, presence of consultants and attorneys, and variable involvement of medical staff.
