Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Medical Assistants (MA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), or Registered Nurses (RN) to join our team at Night & Day Ketamine Infusion Center. The successful candidates will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a supportive and compassionate environment. Your role will involve administering medications, monitoring patient vital signs, and assisting with various medical treatments. This position is based in a office /spa setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation.
- Prepare patients for ketamine infusion therapy, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Administer ketamine infusions under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
- Monitor patients during and after ketamine treatment, observing for any adverse reactions and responding promptly to patient needs.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain patient records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide patient education and support, addressing any questions or concerns regarding ketamine therapy and its effects.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Qualifications:
- MA, LPN, or RN license in Virginia.
- Previous experience in an outpatient clinic or infusion center preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients dealing with mental health and chronic pain conditions.
- Willingness to undergo training in ketamine infusion therapy protocols and procedures.
Skills:
1. Clinical Skills:
- Proficient in taking vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and IV insertion for ketamine infusion therapy.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
- Competency in wound care, medication administration, and basic medical procedures.
2. Patient Care:
- Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care, particularly when working with individuals experiencing mood disorders or chronic pain.
- Skilled in patient assessment and monitoring for signs of distress or adverse reactions during ketamine infusion therapy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or questions.
3. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving:
- Capacity to assess patient responses to ketamine treatment and intervene appropriately in case of adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Quick decision-making skills to prioritize patient needs and respond to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to infusion pumps or equipment during ketamine therapy sessions.
