Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess damage and determine repair costs
- Utilize auto estimating software to generate accurate repair estimates
- Collaborate with auto body repair shops to negotiate repair costs and ensure quality repairs
- Analyze vehicle condition and history to determine the fair market value for insurance claims or resale purposes
- Communicate with customers, insurance adjusters, and other parties involved in the appraisal process
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of appraisals and related activities
Requirements:
- Previous experience in auto appraising, auto service management, or underwriting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques and industry standards
- Ability to analyze vehicle damage and estimate repair costs accurately
- Excellent negotiation skills to ensure fair and cost-effective repairs
- Proficient in using auto estimating software and other relevant tools
- Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance and automotive service procedures
- Mechanical knowledge to assess the impact of damage on vehicle performance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills to interact with customers, insurance adjusters, and repair shops
