1. Manages clinicians’ daily schedule and patient flow to expedite care and maximize clinical time.
2. Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms.
3. Triages walk-in patients per established protocols.
4. Obtains relevant information and takes vital signs as indicated included but not limited to height, weight, blood pressure, and inputs clinical information into the electronic health record and performs medication reconciliation.
5. Assists clinicians with clinical procedures, additional tests specific to the department and/or assist with the assessment of patient needs and coordinates care under the direction of the clinician.
6. Advises patient of preparation required for exam or additional testing and keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information pertaining to the patient’s visit.
7. Prepares and maintains exam rooms for patient arrivals. Cleans and/or maintains inventory of supplies (medical included) and equipment throughout the practice. Notifies supervisor to order clinical supplies, clinical equipment and pharmaceuticals as appropriate.
8. Under the supervision of a physician, administers routine injections when delegated, and documents in real time.
9. Coordinates care when clinicians are not immediately available Assists in resolving patient concerns by acting as an advocate, as appropriate.
10. Participates in practice and department meetings, trainings, etc. to promote continuous improvement and quality patient care.
11. Provides clerical/office support as necessary (i.e. scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients, scanning incoming medical records and paperwork, preparing medical records, answering phone calls and taking messages, faxing, etc.).
12. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
13. Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Massachusetts LPN License
- Basic Life Support certification (BLS) and must maintain certification
