Licensed Practical Nurse needed in Ardmore, OK

 Weekly pay: $1260 per week

Shift needed: Night shift 3 days a week (36 hours)

Job Summary:

LPN will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care in a Neurosurgical unit. The unit focuses on the care of patients with stroke, seizures, MS, back/head/spinal and other neurological diagnoses or neurosurgery procedures. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Involves patient and/or significant others in decisions regarding care
• Assists the RN in admission and discharge process
• Performs patient assessments as indicated by the patients condition or as directed by the RN
• Performs patient hand offs utilizing patient safety tools (ex. SBAR, Report at Bedside, etc.) both from shift-to-shift and interdepartmentally as directed
• Performs patient rounding, based on patient need and departmental guidelines
• Facilitates communication of pertinent findings including significant changes in patient condition to RN in a timely manner
• Maintains effective communication through appropriate utilization of the chain of command
• Communicates subjective and objective data about the patient/family and/or significant others with appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team
• Collaborating with the RN, evaluates patient response to care and in determining progress toward achievement of outcomes, and documents nursing interventions toward the patient/family promoting optimal health, healing, or dignified end of life when appropriate 

Requirements: 

Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program;

2 year of Medical Surgical experience required

Certifications:

• BLS
• NIHSS
