This is a full-time, direct placement for Vision One IT Consulting
This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data and fiber optic cabling, as well as security and access control systems. The professional in this position will work with a range of technologies and equipment, ensuring their effective operation and compliance with relevant safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cabling Installation and Maintenance: Handle the planning, installation, termination, and testing of data and fiber optic cables, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to structured cabling standards.
• Security Systems and Access Control: Implement and maintain various security systems, including CCTV, intrusion detection systems, and alarm systems. Install and configure access control devices such as biometric scanners, card readers, and electronic locks.
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Utilize sophisticated testing equipment to diagnose issues, perform corrective actions, and ensure systems are functioning at peak efficiency. Resolve both hardware and software related issues.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Keep meticulous records of system installations, modifications, and repairs. Create detailed network diagrams and cable routing plans.
• Compliance and Safety: Follow industry-standard practices and regulatory requirements to ensure safe and compliant installations. Keep updated with changes in regulations and technology trends.

Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in data and fiber optic cabling, security systems, and access control systems. Familiarity with tools and test equipment related to these fields.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as BICSI Registered Installer or Technician, CompTIA Network+, or security-related certifications.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills with the capacity to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and clients, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure installations and repairs are completed to the highest standard and systems operate as expected.
• Adaptability: Able to adapt to changing technology trends and continue learning new systems and methods.

Desirable:

• Experience: Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Driving License: A clean driving license can be beneficial, as the role might require travel to different locations.
