Located in Walker, MI, Walker Charter Academy has outperformed the local school district on the state test for more than 10 years. Opening our doors in 1997 and serving students Young 5-8, we create endless opportunities for our students to become their best. We offer extra support to our students, including tutoring, counseling, English Language Learner (ELL) services, special education services, a summer learning program, speech and language services, and occupational therapy. We inspire our students to excel academically and think creatively to reach their full potential. Our dedicated teachers help students apply critical-thinking skills to solve real-world problems. HIGHLIGHTS:
- Please note: This is an on-call, as-needed type of position. Opportunities to substitute will vary depending on the absence of a teacher or paraprofessional.
- Please note: This is temporary full-time (Monday-Friday) coverage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to execute a lesson plan that is assigned by the teacher.
- Provide clear instruction and assist scholars in understanding a subject matter while maintaining discipline and control of the classroom.
- Demonstrate moral focus and personal values to all stakeholders.
- Self-starter with effective classroom management skills, strong leadership, and a passion for educating students.
